A vibrant community

7,500 people live in Tabor with 23,000 residing in the Trade Area. The community has grown 6% from 1996-2000 with 80% of the population owning their own homes. The average age is 33 with the dominant group being zero to four year olds. The affordable housing prices and local amenities give Taber residents a great quality of life.

Incredible recreational opportunities abound

Within the Tabor area families enjoy facilities almost unprecedented for a community its size. A state of the art Aquafun Center (3 pools & water slide), a Community Center (ice rink, four-sheet curling rink, auditorium, meeting rooms, health club), and a Sports Field Complex (ball diamonds, soccer pitches, football fields, batting cages, playground equipment) make Tabor a destination for sports enthusiasts from all over Alberta.

Community events show the heart of Taber. Each year the city strongly supports many sports tournaments as well as proudly hosting the annual Cornfest and Rodeo Daze.

A short drive brings you world-class scenery and outstanding recreational opportunities. The Rocky Mountains to the west, the Cypress Hills to the southeast, and Montana and Glacier International Park to the south. Recreational activities are bountiful: skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, hunting, camping, etc. The Taber region has more than 12 lakes, reservoirs, fishponds and river bottom sites to provide opportunities for fishing, boating, water-skiing, and windsurfing. Campsites and picnic facilities are also available at most locations.
